The First Year Advising Program
-
Launched in the fall 2003, the purpose of the program is to address the specific advising and transition needs of First Year freshmen.
The First Year Advising program serves as an extended orientation and provides 'just in time' information via group and individual meetings, emails, website postings, Peer Outreach and the printed materials (like the academic planner) throughout the first year.
Students are assigned an advisor based on their declared program. Their advisor is the 'go-to' person for questions and concerns during the transition from high school to college.
First Year Advisors encourage and support students engagement efforts, help students learn how to maneuver Stout and understand the policies, procedures and resources available to them.
Call 232-1465 for more information, or to set up an appointment.
Who is My Advisor?
First Year Advisors are assigned by major/program. To find your advisor's name and location, click on the above link and find the program degree you have declared.
