Responsibilities

The campus computer network at UW-Stout provides access to computing and information facilities, including electronic mail and the Internet - a worldwide network of independent computer networks. All UW-Stout students, staff and faculty may use email and the Internet by first establishing a personal account on the network. Having an account is a privilege, in exchange for which you must agree to certain responsibilities:

The following actions are considered unacceptable and participation in them may result in disciplinary actions and/or the loss of your Internet account and privileges:

Other Restrictions

Playing games on the Internet is not considered an academic activity. Technology and Information Services may restrict access for game players in order to conserve network resources for academic uses. The same restrictions may apply to Chat rooms where the discussion is non-academic.

Logging onto your personal account on the network constitutes agreement to the above guidelines. Remember that as a user of the Internet network, you are accountable for your actions when accessing network services.
