Outright Contributions
Outright contributions augment our ability to purchase books, audiovisual materials, and equipment.
- Unrestricted Contributions: Your gift will be used in the area of greatest need.
- Designated Contributions: You designate what the gift should be used for, such as library collections, books, University Archives and Area Research Center, DVD's, etc.
- Named Endowment: Create a named endowment in the subject area of your choice.
- All financial contributions must be donated through University Advancement (715-232-2675).
Planned Giving

Donations of Books, Recordings, and Other Materials
Donations of materials are also welcome and may be added to our collections or sold at the library's book sale. Please contact Bill Johnston, Collection Development Librarian (715-232-2363, johnstonw@uwstout.edu), for details.
For donations of records, photographs, scrapbooks, etc. pertaining to UW-Stout, please contact Kevin Thorie, University Archivist (715-232-2300, thoriek@uwstout.edu), for details.
Donor Recognition
Kay and David Barnard have donated two significant ongoing named endowments to the University Library. One is for library staff development for which any library staff member can apply for a grant to attend professional training. The other funds the Barnard Outstanding Staff Award. More recently, they donated over 200 professional photographs to be sold with proceeds to be used for library needs.
The Rastkis endowment for engineering has contributed half the cost of the database subscription to IEEE Explore. This important resource contains the content of all the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' periodical research, conference proceedings, symposium papers, as well as standards.
