Charles W. Sorensen
Chancellor
Charles W. Sorensen is Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Before his appointment in 1988, he served as a member of the faculty and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Grand Valley State University and as Academic Vice President at Winona State University. He has been a strong advocate of partnerships with the private sector and building alliances with K-12 schools. Under his leadership, UW-Stout developed a technology park and an award winning technology transfer program. He has served on state wide committees and a blue ribbon commission on the future of the state's economy. Dr. Sorensen has been a strong advocate for distance education, developing a digital campus at UW-Stout, private fund-raising, and using quality tools in an educational environment. He earned a B.A. from Augustana College, a M.S. from Illinois State University, and holds a Ph.D. (history) from Michigan State University.
Diane M. Moen
Vice Chancellor, Administrative and Student Life Services
Diane Moen is Vice Chancellor of Administrative and Student Life Services at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Ms. Moen began her career with UW-Stout in 1978. She has held several positions including Budget Analyst, Controller, and Assistant Chancellor. Ms. Moen is active in professional organizations, including the Central Association of College and University Business Officers, and also serves as an Executive Council Member for the National Consortium for Continuous Improvement in Higher Education. Ms. Moen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Julie A. Furst-Bowe
Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs
Julie Furst-Bowe has been in higher education for more than 20 years. She has been at the University of Wisconsin-Stout since 1990, and served as graduate program director, department chair and associate vice chancellor prior to assuming her current position. She has been extensively involved with Baldrige efforts at UW-Stout and serves as an examiner for the Baldrige Awards Program and for the Academic Quality Improvement Project. Dr. Furst-Bowe holds a doctorate in education. She has worked with universities across the country on quality improvement initiatives.
Cynthia Gilberts
Executive Director of Enrollment Services
Cynthia Gilberts is the Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Director of Admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Dr. Gilberts began her career at UW-Stout in 1977 and was promoted to her current position in 2000. This position includes supervision of the offices of admissions, financial aids and registration and records. She has a bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling, both from UW-Stout. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership and administration in 1996 from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Meridith Wentz
Director, Office of Budget, Planning, and Analysis
Meridith Wentz is director of the Office of Budget, Planning and Analysis at UW-Stout. Ms. Wentz has five years of experience conducting research at UW-Stout. She designs and conducts institutional research studies, and performs statistical analysis of database and survey data. Ms. Wentz received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biology from Saint Olaf College in 1999 and her Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2001. She is currently a doctoral candidate of the University of Minnesota.
Donna Weber
Assistant to the Chancellor for Affirmative Action
Donna Weber, Assistant to the Chancellor for Affirmative Action, began her career at UW-Stout in 1984 teaching in the Psychology Department. Ms. Weber joined the senior management team at UW-Stout in 1995 and facilitated the Administrative Leadership Team for four years. Ms. Weber is president of a regional partnership of three counties and a state board member of the Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership. Other work experience includes human resources director, accounting manager and employment counselor. Ms. Weber received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Viterbo University and a master’s degree in Education in Professional Development from UW-Stout.
Wayne Argo
Director of Human Resources
Wayne Argo has served as the Director of Human Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stout for 17 years and has been in the human resources profession for over 25 years. Mr. Argo has responsibility for staff benefits, payroll, employee relations, training, classified recruitments, contracts and workers compensation for all employees. He has served as president of the Wisconsin Chapter of the College and University Professional Association-Human Resources, and is chair of the University of Wisconsin Insurance Association. He serves on many campus faculty and academic staff committees and University of Wisconsin System committees that address personnel, payroll and staff benefit issues. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
