Minor, Certification,
or Student-Designed Concentration
Students in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) may select from existing UW-Stout minors. Students may also select from existing certifications (specializations).
Many students in HDFS choose a student-designed concentration instead of a minor or certification. A student-designed concentration is 18 credits of coursework that you choose with the help of your advisor. Course selection should be based upon interest and career goals and should extend your expertise.
The following link offers suggestions of courses to help you with this process. These suggested courses have beengrouped under a variety of categories or focus to assist you with selection.
