What are segregated fees?
Segregated University Fee(s) (SUF) describe charges in addition to instructional fees assessed to all students for services, programs, and facilities that support the primary mission of the University. Student Activities: (Allocable) SSA Funded Organizations - This portion of the segregated fees provides funding for student organization support, student activities, and concerts and lectures as determined by the Stout Student Association.
Student Activities (Nonallocable) - Campus Activities Office - This portion of the segregated fees provides funding for personnel contracts.
Intramurals – This portion of the segregated fees provides funding for the programs and facilities
operated under the University Recreation Department.
Intercollegiate Athletics – This portion of the segregated fees provides funding for the Athletic programs for both men and women at Stout.
Recreation Complex - This portion of the segregated fees provides funding for the debt service and approved capital projects and base operating funding.
University Centers - This portion of the segregated fees supports the base operating funding of student centers/unions not covered by user charges such as facilities and programs at The Memorial Student Center, events, workshops, retreats and activities that support students’ interest in getting involved on campus and in the community.
Health Services - The University Health Service portion of the segregated fees supports the minimum student health program as determined by the Chancellor, and public health mission of the Student Health Services.
Municipal Services – This portion of the segregated fees is used to fund other items as determined by the institution, consistent with the non-allocable definition and System policies
University Identification System – This portion of the segregated fees is used to fund the University ID system.
United Council - This fee supports representation activities by the United Council of Student Governments of UW System institutions. Although strictly not a segregated fee, it is assessed with the segregated fee group but at a flat rate of $2.00 per student without regard to credit load.
Textbook Rental – This portion of the segregated fees is used to fund the textbook rental progam through the Instructional Resources Service.
